On March 2nd, Team Pay Day celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday with the first grade at Borland Manor. Students quickly made new friends participating in the many activities that were planned. They had fun making "I Love Green Eggs and Ham" picture frames and playing Dr. Seuss Jeopardy. They even enjoyed a cookie and a drink while they read a book with their new buddy. Birthday balloons were decorated with pictures to represent each student's favorite Dr. Seuss book. Overall, we had a wonderful visit with first grade and we hope that we have the opportunity to spend time with them again!

Dr. Dawn Nicolaus, Director of Curriculum and Instruction at Canon-McMillan, visited North Strabane Intermediate School to see the students using the games purchased from Ms. Douglas' 2009-10 mini-grant. The mini-grant, Exploratory: Problem Solved, allows fifth grade students the opportunity to solve problems while playing challenging games involving strategy and chance. Dr. Nicloaus took the Marble Maze challenge and was crowned the champion! It was so nice to have Dr. Nicolaus visit our school and interact with the students.
