Tinglers Make Sound!

The students on Team Pay Day made Tinglers in science class to show how vibrating tape can make sound. The students used two pieces of cardboard and a strip of Scotch tape to create their instruments. The students realized that by pulling on the strip of tape, they could change the sound. The tighter the strip, the faster it vibrated - and a higher pitched sound was heard. Many students correlated this to how sound is made when you place a blade of grass between your thumbs and make it vibrate.
